Candidates arriving late will not be given compensatory time for the late arrival and may be denied entry to the exam. All candidates are required to present a valid identity card, such as a national ID card, driver\u2019s license, or passport, to the invigilator. The duration of the exam varies according to the type of examination taken (see description of the different exams for more details). Additional time can be provided to candidates taking the exam in a language other than their mother tongue (when requested by the candidates, on the exam day).<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Exam type:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Essay types, known as \u201copen book\u201d exams, are exams where the candidates are authorized to use only the following reference materials:<\/p><ul><li>A copy of the standard in paper hardcopy;<\/li><li>Course notes from the Participant Handout;<\/li><li>Any personal notes made by the student during the course;<\/li><li>A hard copy dictionary.<\/li><\/ul><div>\u00a0<\/div><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">For more information about exam details, please visit\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/staging.pecb.com\/examination-rules-and-policies\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Examination Rules and Policies<\/a><\/p><h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>5.\u00a0Receive your Exam Results<\/strong><\/h2><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Results will be communicated by email within 6 to 8 weeks from your examination date. The candidate will be provided with only two possible examination results: pass or fail, rather than an exact grade.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In case of a failure, the results will be accompanied by the list of domains where the candidate failed to fully answer the question. This can help the candidate better prepare for a retake of the exam. Candidates who disagree with the exam results may file a complaint by writing to <a href=\"mailto:examination@staging.pecb.com\">examination@staging.pecb.com<\/a>.<\/p><h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>6.\u00a0Apply for Certification<\/strong><\/h2><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">All participants who successfully pass their certification exam (or an equivalent accepted by PECB) are entitled to apply for the PECB credentials they were examined for. Specific educational and professional requirements will need to be fulfilled in order to be PECB certified. Candidates are required to fill out the online\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/staging.pecb.com\/user\/checkEmail\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Certification Application Form<\/a>, and fill out all other online forms (that can be accessed via their PECB online profile), including contact details of references who will be contacted to validate the candidates\u2019 professional experience. Lastly, before submitting the application, a candidate can choose to pay online or be billed. In case the candidate needs additional information, they should contact <a href=\"mailto:accounting@staging.pecb.com\">accounting@staging.pecb.com<\/a>\u00a0and\/or\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:certification@staging.pecb.com\">certification@staging.pecb.com<\/a>.<\/p><p>The approval of the application occurs as soon as the Certification Department validates that you fulfil all the certification requirements regarding the credential you have applied for. An email will be sent to the email address you provided during your application process to communicate your application status. If approved, you will then be able to download your certificate from your member account.<\/p><h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>7.\u00a0Maintain your Certification<\/strong><\/h2><p>PECB certifications are valid for three years. To maintain a certificate, PECB Certified Professionals are required to demonstrate that they are performing certification-related activities. In addition to this, PECB Professionals are required to pay an Annual Maintenance Fee (AMF) and submit Continuing Professional Development (CPDs).<\/p><p>A notification email is sent to our certified members, who are required to submit their Continuing Professional Development (CPD) along with the Annual Maintenance Fee (AMF) three months before the annual date of their certification. The PECB-certified members will then be able to submit their CPDs by visiting their account and providing the required information for the respective certification.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em><strong>Note:<\/strong> <\/em>Please see <a href=\"https:\/\/staging.pecb.com\/pdf\/brochures\/sample-letter-amf.docx\">this link <\/a>for a template to request support from your employer to pay the certification AMFs (optional).
